We are not going to limit ourselves to merely empirical experimentation with environments in quest of mechanistically provoked surprises. The really experimental direction of situationist activity consists in setting up, on the basis of more or less clearly recognized desires, a temporary field of activity favorable to these desires.

Conventional intelligence, regardless of politico-economic sentiments, doesn't necessitate an appreciation for this movement and its rhetoric. This is precisely because traditional inteligencias break down many aspects of complexities into trivial bureaucratized/hierarchical form in order to make knowledge mass-producable.

Situationists refuse to discard any part of a complexity as trivial; and it just so happens that what is most regarded as trivial by inteligencias are the details of everyday life that Situationists want to hand back to the people - not as knowledge, but as something to consciously create.
